There’s a reason that Tomy is the leading manufacturer of baby carriers in the UK. They provide the utmost in comfort for both the parent and the child and, appropriately named as “Freestyle”, these baby carriers literally put the control right back in the parent’s hands. Add to this the fact that not only are they very stylish, but they’ve also been designed with direct support and advice from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, so you and baby will not only travel in comfort, but with full support too!

Some of this chiropractic support is found in the wide lumbar support straps that wrap completely around the waist and snap up. Two wide and padded shoulder straps reach down the back to also attach to this wide belt. This distributes the weight of the child evenly across your back, with the bulk of it resting evenly on your hips, making it much easier to carry baby.

Tomy baby carriers are also designed with baby bucket seats. The ingenious factor of this contraption is that the legs of the bucket seat wrap around the thighs of the baby instead of the strap at the crotch like many other styles of carriers. This not only makes it more comfortable for the child but it also keeps their pelvis and waist in a natural position and relieves the pressure that’s often placed in a delicate area.

Tomy baby carriers have also kept logistics in mind with each design. Not only does the wide belted waist have an easy-to-reach and easy-to-use snap, but the baby bucket seat actually snaps right on and off the front of the carrier. This is great for busy parents who often lift baby in and out of a carrier, but it’s especially handy when baby’s fallen asleep along the way and you don’t want to wake them by shuffling them out of the carrier!

This forward-facing baby carrier from Tomy allows your baby to sit inside of it facing inward from birth until 3 months and then facing out to see the world from the time they are 3 months to approximately 6 – 8 month old. This is important to keep in mind if you are considering this Tomy because although the price is great, you’ll need to invest in another carrier before the baby’s first birthday.

The Tomy Classic is designed so that the shoulder straps and hip straps are padded, giving the parent optimal comfort and all of the carriers in this line are in neutral colours so they are suitable for both moms and dads to wear. The Classic is comfortable for baby too with a raised neck in the back to provide ultimate support when baby’s relaxing while being dragged around on errands and the front also has a small neck lip, so that the child’s head doesn’t fall forward too much if they should fall asleep.

There’s no extra storage in the way of pockets so you might end up bringing along another bag but if you’re only looking for a temporary solution to trek baby around in, the Tomy Classic baby carrier is a beautiful way to do it!

In a world where the shelves of baby departments all over the world are stuffed with different kinds and styles of baby carriers, there are two features of the Tomy Freestyle Click and Go Baby Carrier that make it unique and make one pause and consider it among the competition. The first outstanding feature is that the carrier portion and the parental portion unclip into two different pieces. This makes it easy for the parent to slip the carrier on and off when baby is sleeping and can also make maneuvering baby around on errands easier, especially when you need to set baby down for a moment. Another feature that makes this model from Tomy such a dream is that it has been designed with the help of back and posture experts, to ensure that the carrier will not hurt or injure the parent in any way while it is being worn and that baby will also be safe and snug while cuddled up in the carrier. The leg straps can be adjusted to fit baby more comfortably as they grow and after three months, or when baby has good head control they can also be flipped around to face the world! There is also head support for the little one to eliminate the bobbing of the head that comes with a lot of travel and the side-to-side roll of the head, which can be especially dangerous for smaller babies who don’t yet have good head control.

If that’s not enough for you, the Tomy Freestyle Click and Go also has stowaway compartments for loose straps, a storage pocket for all of those incidentals that you collect along the way (or babies invaluable binkie!), and a bib to catch any mess. Is there anything bad about this carrier? Well, yes, if you like having multiple colors to choose from, as it’s only available in black and the weight limit is just under twenty pounds, which for many babies, is several months before their first birthday! It may be worth asking yourself if it’s really worth spending the much money for less than a year’s use. It just may be!
