If you’re in the market for a baby carrier, you might quickly find that there are two main different types: hard-frame and soft-shell. Hard-framed baby carriers often have many different metal spokes and pieces that fit together to provide a very sturdy place for baby to sit while you walk around the mall or go out on a hike. The sturdiness is in fact, what most parents who buy these types of carriers are looking for in a baby carrier. So why then, would you ever buy a soft baby carrier?

While soft baby carriers might not be ideal for wandering through the woods for hours at a time, they are much more comfortable and easier to carry around your house than their larger, more cumbersome counterparts. That’s particularly useful considering that babies love to “be worn” all the time, because it keeps them close to their parent’s heartbeat and the rocking movements can be very comforting.

Another huge advantage that soft baby carriers have over hardcover carriers is that baby carriers that come with a harder, metal frame are only suitable for babies from 6 months on, at minimum – and you might have problems finding one that carries them even that young. This can be especially frustrating for parents, because that’s the age when babies need the security of being close the most. Soft baby carriers usually allow babies to be held in them from the time they are newborn to at least one year of age. So you can wear it out of the hospital, and not worry about getting another one for at least a year!

Hard cover baby carriers definitely have their time, their place, and their own advantages. But when you’re first expecting the new addition, make sure you have a soft baby carrier on hand – it’s then that you’re going to need it the most!

Cute word play in the name, a baby carrier that’s worn by celebrities, and a certain simplicity that’s hard to find these days – those are just a few things you’ll find when you choose Belle Baby Carriers to carry your baby.

Belle Baby Carriers was formed in 2006 when two fathers, Seth Murray and Mark LeBeau, teamed up to bring parents a new kind of front-facing baby carrier. Seth and Mark formed a company and named it “Belle,” after both of their daughters, Isabel and Isabelle, respectively. Belle Baby Carriers have always been about putting parent and children in close contact, in a way that’s ergonomicallly comfortable for both you and baby; and that looks good too! Plus, this simple package comes with just a few features such as a detachable neck support, super durable rings, and extra thick padding.

After receiving a huge response with their Classic line, Seth and Mark realized the demand from parents for carriers that were not only comfortable and convenient, but also extra-safe for baby too. That’s when they introduced their Organic collection that featured dye-free fabric and four different lines: Organic Black, Organic Moss, Organic Sand, and Organic Jubilee. All are certified to be 100% certified organic and are a blend of cotton and organic hemp materials. Generally, the only thing that differs within these lines are the colours of the carrier, with Jubilee being a playful white and black paisley pattern.

There’s definitely no doubt. When you choose Belle Baby Carriers, you’ve chosen one of the best ways to carry your baby. And you can even take some of those bragging rights, saying that you use the same baby carrier that Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, and Jessica Alba have carried their children in. But, you better also have the budget of a celebrity to invest in one of these carriers – they cost about twice as much as other carrier models, averaging from 75 – 100 pounds online.

As joyful a time it is bringing a new baby into the house, parents are faced with a dilemma too – their baby wants to be held all the time but, they’ve never had so much to do! So what are you supposed to do when your hands need to be busy washing bottles and burp cloths, but your baby won’t stop crying unless you pick them up? In walks the front baby carrier – the new parent’s answer to every problem (or at least one of them anyway!)

Yes, a lot of babies like to be held a lot of the time, especially when they’re still in the newborn stage. It replicates the rocking and soothing movement of the womb, and it also keeps them close to the parent’s heartbeat – something else they grew accustomed to while in the womb. And front baby carriers let them have all of that, yet still lets the busy parent do all the things they need to do while still keeping baby happy and content.

Most front baby carriers can be used from the time baby is just born to about 6 months of age, which is convenient seeing as how that’s the time babies start crawling around and becoming more interested in the world around them, no longer needing the constant cradle of mummy or daddy’s arms.

There are always new trends coming out in baby carriers, but the latest thing to keep you hip is a baby carrier – for your hips! Gone are the days of lugging that preschooler around your back, and walking around all hunched over. And forget about holding your toddler on your hip using only your arm and hand; all that will do is give you a leaning look that is neither aesthetically pleasing, or comfortable. But now, with the hip baby carriers such as the Ellaroo Mei Hip Carrier or the Playtex Hip Hammock, you don’t have to lean or hunch. Just snap on your carrier, perch your baby up there, and go about your way.

Hip baby carriers really are going to revolutionize the way that parents carry their children around. But before you rush out to buy one, there are some things to remember. The first is that hip carriers are not meant for children that are under four months old, or before they can sit up on their own. Very young infants simply are not able to hold themselves up on a hip carrier, and the lack of back support could actually make it potentially very dangerous for baby. The other important thing to remember is that hip carriers aren’t meant for long walks. While this is not dangerous to the child, hip carriers do still tend to cause your body and spine to shift to one side. So if you strap one on for a long hike, you’re definitely going to feel it the next day!

But for when you’re just heading out to the mall, the grocery store, or just have a cranky baby that wants to be held while you do some thing around the house, there are definitely lots of good choices in hip baby carriers out there!

Backpack baby carriers are quickly becoming some of the most popular models of baby carriers on the market. And just like everything else, as their popularity continues to increase, the prices keep dropping – making them even more attractive. But why should you buy a backpack baby carrier, and what should you look for when buying one?

There are lots of reasons to buy a backpack baby carrier! Of course, these baby carriers are very convenient because you can take your baby with you wherever you go, and keep your hands free. And, babies and children always feel safer and more comfortable when they’re that close to the parent, so it can make for easier and happier trips for everyone too. Of course, most of these things are true of most baby carriers, but those of the backpack variety still have a few advantages of these other kinds.

One of those advantages is that parents don’t have to worry about things like leaning too far forward, and grappling to hold baby close to them when they’re wearing a front-facing baby carrier. Also, backpack carriers are usually designed with a sturdy, metal frame. This can make parent and child both feel much safer and much more secure as they travel over some of the toughest terrain, such as when parents and baby are out hiking for the day. Backpack carriers are also much easier to maneuver than strollers or carriages, and they fold up easier and take up much less room.

So, now that you’re convinced that you should buy a backpack baby carrier, just what should you look for in one? The first, and most important is that the carrier has a 5-point harness system. This is a system that will keep the shoulders and hips snug in the seat with four clips, and they’ll all meet together in a single, central clip. Making sure that this harness system is padded is also ideal for baby, especially when you know you’ll be out on long trips.

Chicco has been climbing the ladder in the last few years as one of the top names in baby carriers. Chicco is known for making many items of baby gear, with strollers, car seats, playpens, and all the accessories you want to go with them being some of the stars in their lineup. Now, they’ve added on to include baby carriers that are soft and cozy and are as comfortable for baby as they are convenient for the parent. Of the Chicco line, they are most known for three models of baby carriers: the SmartSupport Backpack, the You & Me Deluxe Infant Carrier, and the Ultrasoft Carrier.

The You & Me Deluxe Infant Carrier is meant to be worn with babies that are up to 26 pounds, and it’s only meant to be worn on the front of mum or dad, although baby can face in or out. It has cool features like the ability to zip baby in or out, so you needn’t worry about waking them up at nap time, and it has all the lumbar support and height adjustments that you could want out of a carrier, plus reflective piping.

The Ultrasoft Infant Carrier is also meant to be worn only the front, and used only for babies that are up to 25 pounds. But the name says it all – this carrier focuses on comfort and softness and there are belts and soft cloths placed everywhere to make sure it’s just that!

The SmartSupport Backpack Carrier is by far the sturdiest of the three. It’s meant to only be worn on the back and is suitable for children up to 40 pounds, which is about the age of 4. It also has a sturdy metal frame that can be propped open so that baby can sit upright when placed on the ground. But that’s not to say that this model isn’t without its comfort zone too. Straps, buckles and soft padding galore – this carrier has got it all!

From: Kiddies Kingdom

This stylish baby carrier comes in a pretty blue colour with matching blue stripes in the interior and is extremely comfortable for both parent and baby!

The Infantino Easy Rider baby carrier is worn in the front with baby facing in or out. Because the carrier is recommended for babies up to 20 pounds, it’s most recommended that baby faces in for the first six months and looks out facing the world after that! The Easy Rider has criss-cross straps in the back to relieve pressure and weight from the parent’s shoulders. But the best straps on this carrier have to be at the sides! With buckles on either side of the seat that can be popped open with just one hand, it’s never been easier to get your baby in or out of a baby carrier!

The Infantino Easy Rider also has a front pocket for you to stash your phone, keys, or extra change while you’re out and about. But this pocket isn’t big enough to hold everything you’ll need so you’ll still probably end up bringing a purse or baby’s diaper bag. The lack of storage is the only thing missing from the Infantino Easy Rider as it will let you take your baby wherever you need to go in style and comfort!

From: Halfords

Every baby needs to be safe and snug when it’s time to go for a ride in the car with mum and dad. And there’s no better way to make sure that happens than with this car seat from Graco, one of the leading manufacturers in baby furniture and products!

This car seat comes in a deep midnight blue so that your child will have the perfect environment for having a little sleep along the way. And it’s suitable for children from the newborn stages all the way until their first birthday! It’s rear-facing, which is the safest way to take baby on your travels during the first year and it has a 3-point security harness to keep them even more safe.

You also won’t have to worry about fiddling and fidgeting to get this seat into your vehicle, or onto a stroller because the entire chair features a one-click system. This means that one click will get the seat into the base, out of the base, and onto a stroller for when you’re going to the mall or for the time when baby’s just not quite big enough to sit upright in a stroller. And, when you place it in the car, there’s even an indicator light that will let you know the seat is in just the way it should be!

You’ll love the side-impact protection, the adjustable harness, its adjustable canopy, and the fact that it comes with a cover that is completely machine-washable! But the Junior Baby from Graco also has lots to offer your little one as well! The reinforced body insert will keep them from slipping while it keeps them in complete comfort and the fleece-lined harness protectors will also feel soft and snugly against your baby’s skin. Plus, for when your baby is just still brand new, there’s a head rest for newborns so you don’t have to worry about their small necks becoming injured due to a still-wobbly head.

Graco proves once again that they provide only the finest quality baby products that are safe and comfortable while still being loaded with features!

The Ultralight Convertible Carrier from LittleLife has everything that you will find with its predecessor, the Ultralight Carrier but it has even more features that truly make it everything you could ever need. Plus of course, it all folds up into a backpack, making it easier to take with you on long trips in the car or just when your little one wants to get down and stretch their legs for a bit.

Your baby will be extremely comfortable in this carrier with an anatomically-shaped seat plus a comfort bib that will keep their tiny face protected. When the bib gets dirty, it comes off easily and can be thrown in the wash for the next trip! Baby will also have lots to do with the easy-access toy loop that can easily attach to most toys. What this carrier doesn’t have that the non-convertible option offers is stirrups that come right with the carrier but the Ultralight Convertible does have stirrup attachments so you can clip them on when your child’s legs become too long to sit comfortably without them.

And you’ll be comfortable too with the padding that’s placed strategically in the back and shoulders so that you don’t feel any strain from the pack. And there’s also an anchor point so that you can feel safe placing your child inside it and the top handles will let you pick up this carrier and go – whether it’s unfolded into a carrier or all zipped up into a backpack! The LittleLife Ultralight Convertible Carrier is definitely a must-have for busy parents and children that always find themselves on the move!
