Why Use a Baby Sling?
When parents are looking for a way to carry their baby around with them, it doesn’t take them long to discover that there is a whole world of choices out there! But who can wear a sling? And are there any concerns with this type of carrier?
Baby slings are large pieces of fabric that wrap around the parent’s body and provide a pouch for the baby to safely and securely sit in. This keeps the parent’s hands free while baby can sleep, watch the world go by, or just sit cozily listening to their parent’s heartbeat. Slings are also especially great for moms to use because they can provide shelter and privacy when breast-feeding in public. Slings are also a great choice to use as carriers because when you don’t need them, they simply fold up and can be stored very easily.
Even though the slings on the market today are perfectly safe and effective, some parents considering slings are still hesitant to try them. This is undoubtedly because there have been recalls on some different models of slings and because they don’t have a firm, sturdy metal frame, like other carriers do. However, when used properly and only after reading all of the safety and instructions for use thoroughly, slings can be a wonderful alternative to other types of baby carriers. Why else would they becoming some of the best selling baby carriers on the market?
